NFL DFS Week 6
Slate breakdown

Ten games on the DraftKings main slate. Three shootouts at 51.5 or higher, four games at 41.5 or lower, and a clear split between the games you stack and the games you take a defense from.

The slate

Ten games, three shootouts

The Week 6 main slate splits cleanly in two. Bills at Raiders (53.5), Bears at Falcons (52.5), and Cardinals at Rams (51.5) are the only three games with totals above 47, and all three are in domes. That is where the stacks live. At the other end, four games sit at 41.5 or lower, and those are where you go shopping for a defense.

The middle of the slate is Saints at Giants (46.5), Titans at Colts (44.5), and Jets at Patriots (43.5). None of them is a stack environment, but each has one or two positional edges worth knowing about, covered below.

Shootout 1: BUF at LV

The highest total on the slate

The Bills are 5.5-point favorites and implied for 29.5, with the Raiders at 24.0. The Raiders defense is easy to run on and gives up passing yards, which puts both halves of the Bills offense in play.

Stack · BUF

Josh Allen + Dalton Kincaid + DJ Moore

Bring-back: Brock Bowers. If the Raiders are chasing 29.5 points, their tight end is the pass catcher most likely to soak up the volume.

The running back angle: James Cook ($7.4k) grades Great against a defense that is easy to run on. Ty Johnson ($4.7k) is the cheaper way into the same backfield.

Game total 53.5BUF implied 29.5Dome

On the other side, the Raiders run game grades Good against a Bills two-deep zone, but their receivers grade Tough. If you want Raiders exposure outside of Bowers, it runs through the backfield. The Raiders defense ($2.4k) is the clearest Avoid on the slate.

Shootout 2: CHI at ATL

The closest game with a big total

A 52.5 total with a 1.5-point spread is the best true shootout setup on the slate: Bears implied for 27.0, Falcons for 25.5. The Bears defense gives up passing yards, so the Falcons quarterback, running back, and receivers all grade Good.

Stack · CHI

Caleb Williams + Luther Burden III + Colston Loveland

Bring-back: Drake London. The Falcons receiver room is the side of this game the matchup data likes most.

Flip it: because the Falcons grade better than the Bears on offense, a Falcons-side stack with a Bears bring-back is a fair way to get different from the field in the same game.

Game total 52.5Spread 1.5Dome

Both defenses grade Avoid here: the Bears defense ($2.7k) and the Falcons defense are each facing an offense implied for 25-plus points.

Shootout 3: ARI at LAR

The biggest implied total on the board

The Rams are 12.5-point favorites and implied for 32.0, the highest team total on the slate. The Cardinals defense struggles to cover tight ends, gives up passing yards, and is facing a fast-paced, pass-first offense. Every Rams position grades Good or Great.

Stack · LAR

Matthew Stafford + Puka Nacua + Davante Adams

Bring-back: Trey McBride. A 12.5-point spread means the Cardinals should be throwing late, and McBride grades Good against the Rams.

The best single matchup on the slate: Tyler Higbee ($3.4k). The Cardinals struggle to cover tight ends, and Higbee is the top-graded position of the week.

LAR implied 32.0Spread 12.5Dome

The risk with a 12.5-point favorite is a game that is over by halftime, with the Rams running out the clock. That is the case for pairing the Rams stack with a Cardinals bring-back rather than going all-in on one side. The Cardinals defense ($2.0k) is an Avoid, cheap or not.

Matchup edges

Where the grades say to look

Outside the three shootouts, these are the positional edges worth building around.

TargetGameWhy
LAR TE · Tyler Higbee $3.4kARI @ LARCardinals struggle to cover tight ends. Top grade on the slate.
NO RB · Alvin Kamara $5.1k, Kendre Miller $4.6kNO @ NYGGiants are easy to run on and blitz a lot.
BUF RB · James Cook $7.4k, Ty Johnson $4.7kBUF @ LVRaiders are easy to run on, in the highest-total game.
NYG RB and TENO @ NYGSaints play a two-deep zone, which opens the run game and the middle of the field.
TEN RB and TETEN @ INDColts blitz a lot and give up catches to backs. A quiet edge on a team implied for only 18.8.
ATL QB, RB, WRCHI @ ATLBears give up passing yards in a 52.5-total game.

Toughest spots. The Panthers receivers (Tetairoa McMillan $7.3k, Jalen Coker $5.9k, John Metchie III $3.2k) face an Eagles two-deep zone in a slow-paced, 39.5-total game, which is the worst receiver matchup on the slate. The Giants and Raiders receivers also grade Tough.

Defenses

Pay for the defense, not the stack, in low totals

Four games sit at 41.5 or lower, and the verdict on all of them is the same: points should be scarce, full stacks are risky, and the defense is the play.

DefenseOpponent impliedWhy
NE DST $3.5kNYJ 18.0Jets offense is slow-paced; their QB and receivers grade Tough. 14 mph wind.
IND DST $3.4kTEN 18.8Colts are 7-point home favorites in a dome.
KC DST $3.6kLAC 17.0Lowest opponent implied total on the slate.
PIT DSTTB 18.0Lowest game total on the slate (38.5).
BAL DST, CAR DST18.3 eachBoth favored by 3 in 39.5-total games.

Avoid: the Cardinals defense ($2.0k) against a Rams offense implied for 32.0, the Raiders defense ($2.4k) against the Bills, and the Bears defense ($2.7k) against the Falcons. Cheap defenses are cheap for a reason.

How I'd build it

Putting the slate together

For a tournament build, I'd spread QB exposure across the three dome shootouts rather than pick one. Each comes with a different game script: a one-sided Rams blowout, a Bills offense that can win on the ground or through the air, and a coin-flip in Atlanta. Run each stack back with its listed bring-back. Fill the rest with the running back edges (Cook, Kamara, the Titans backfield), and take the defense from the low-total games, not from the shootouts.

Questions

Week 6 FAQ

What are the best NFL DFS stacks for Week 6?

The three highest-total games carry the stacks: Rams (Matthew Stafford with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, Trey McBride as the bring-back), Bills (Josh Allen with Dalton Kincaid and DJ Moore, Brock Bowers as the bring-back), and Bears (Caleb Williams with Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland, Drake London as the bring-back).

Which DraftKings defenses are the best plays in Week 6?

The Patriots, Colts, and Chiefs defenses face offenses implied for 17 to 18.8 points, and the Steelers face a Buccaneers team implied for 18.0 in the lowest-total game on the slate.

Which Week 6 games should I avoid stacking?

Steelers at Buccaneers (38.5), Ravens at Browns (39.5), and Panthers at Eagles (39.5). Points should be scarce in all three, so the better use of those games is a defense or a single running back.
