One shootout, three near-shootouts
Packers at Lions (53.5) is the only game on the board above 50, and it's the best game environment on the slate by a wide margin. Behind it sit three games between 48.5 and 49.5: 49ers at Falcons, Bengals at Ravens, and Rams at Raiders. That's where the stacks live this week.

The bottom of the slate is where you shop for a defense. Four games sit at 42.5 or lower, and all four have a defense grading Great.
Questionable tags that matter
A long questionable list this week, and several names touch the stacks below. Check inactives about 90 minutes before the 1:00p and 4:25p locks.
| Player | Why it matters here |
|---|---|
| Jordan Love, GB QB | The Packers side of the slate's best game. If he sits, the Packers bring-backs lose most of their appeal. |
| Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, Savion Williams, Bo Melton, GB WR | Golden is the listed bring-back for the Lions stack. Four Packers receivers are questionable, so the bring-back may shift to whoever is active. |
| Mike Evans, SF WR | Part of the 49ers stack idea. If he sits, Kittle and the running back absorb more of the offense. |
| Brock Bowers, LV TE | Already a weak bring-back (the Rams shut down tight ends). If he sits, the Raiders running back is the clear Rams bring-back. |
| Lamar Jackson, BAL QB | Changes the Bengals at Ravens game more than anyone. If he sits, the total should drop and the Bengals stack gets less appealing. |
| Dalton Schultz, HOU TE | The Texans tight end edge in this breakdown depends on who's active. |
| Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, MIN | The Vikings running back edge gets stronger if either sits. |
Also questionable: Brian Robinson Jr. and Olamide Zaccheaus (ATL), Bucky Irving and Emeka Egbuka (TB), Rashod Bateman (BAL), Calvin Ridley (TEN), Jaylen Waddle (DEN), Caleb Douglas and Jaylen Wright (MIA), Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion (CLE), Mike Washington Jr. (LV), Theo Johnson (NYG), and Tyler Warren (IND).
Where the field is, and where it isn't
The Stack Map plots each team's projected QB ownership against how strong its stack grades in the sims. The two teams the field is piling onto are the Lions and Packers, which makes sense: it's the best game on the slate.
The leverage is in Los Angeles and Cincinnati. The Rams and Bengals both grade as top-four stacks, and both are projected for light QB ownership. The 49ers sit just behind them in stack strength with moderate ownership.
The trap is Houston. The Texans are the most popular QB stack on the slate, but their stack score sits right on the line. The Giants defense plays man coverage that takes away deep balls and grades as a tough pass defense, so the Texans receivers grade only Neutral. The Texans edge is on the ground and at tight end, not in a full QB stack. Denver and Tampa Bay also grade as stacks to fade at their ownership.
The best game environment on the slate
The Lions are 3-point favorites and implied for 28.3, the Packers for 25.3. The Packers defense plays a two-deep zone and grades as a tough pass defense, which shifts the Lions edge toward the backfield and the tight end.
Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown + Sam LaPorta
Bring-back: Matthew Golden (questionable, if he plays). The Packers QB, receivers, and tight end all grade Great against a Lions defense that faces a big offense and a pass-first attack.
The running back angle: Jahmyr Gibbs ($9.8k) grades Great. Sam LaPorta ($4.8k) is one of the best tight end values on the slate.
This is the chalk game. Play it, but don't make it your whole portfolio. Both defenses are fades: the Packers defense grades Avoid, the Lions defense Tough.
Every Rams position grades Great
The Rams are 3.5-point favorites and implied for 26.0 against a Raiders defense that is easy to run on and gives up passing yards. Their QB, RB, WR, and TE all grade Great, and the field is barely on them.
Matthew Stafford + Puka Nacua + Tyler Higbee
Bring-back: Brock Bowers (questionable, if he plays). One caution: the Rams shut down tight ends, so Bowers grades only Neutral. The Raiders running back grades Great against the Rams' two-deep zone and is the stronger bring-back by the grades.
Cheap receivers: Konata Mumpfield ($3.2k) and Tutu Atwell ($3.0k) give you Rams exposure without paying up for Nacua ($8.4k).
The Raiders defense ($2.0k) is the clearest Avoid on the slate.
Two more stacks the field is light on
49ers at Falcons (49.5). Every 49ers position grades Great against a Falcons defense facing a big offense and a pass-first attack. The stack idea is Brock Purdy + George Kittle + Mike Evans (questionable, if he plays) with Drake London as the bring-back. The Falcons running back and tight end both grade Good. The Falcons defense is an Avoid.
Bengals at Ravens (48.5). The Bengals QB, WR, and TE grade Good, and the Bengals are the verdict stack in this game. The bigger individual edges are on the Ravens side, though: Derrick Henry ($7.9k) grades Great against a defense that is easy to run on, and the Ravens tight end grades Great because the Bengals struggle to cover the position. Both defenses grade Tough, and an 11 mph wind and a slow pace (#27) are worth keeping in mind.
Running backs carry the week
Five of the six best matchups on the slate are running backs or tight ends.
| Target | Game | Why |
|---|---|---|
| HOU RB · Woody Marks $5.6k, Jawhar Jordan $4.6k | NYG @ HOU | 10.5-point favorite, run-heavy script, and the Giants blitz a lot. |
| BAL RB · Derrick Henry $7.9k, Justice Hill $4.2k | CIN @ BAL | The Bengals are easy to run on and give up catches to backs. |
| DET RB · Jahmyr Gibbs $9.8k, Sione Vaki $4.3k | GB @ DET | Highest team total on the slate, against a two-deep zone. |
| LAR WR · Puka Nacua $8.4k, Konata Mumpfield $3.2k, Tutu Atwell $3.0k | LAR @ LV | The Raiders give up passing yards. |
| MIN RB · Aaron Jones Sr. $6.2k, Demond Claiborne $4.0k | IND @ MIN | The Colts give up catches to backs, and the Vikings are 6.5-point favorites. |
| DET TE · Sam LaPorta $4.8k | GB @ DET | Two-deep zone opens the middle of the field. |
| HOU TE, CAR TE | NYG @ HOU, TB @ CAR | Both opponents blitz a lot, which bumps tight ends. |
Toughest spots. The Giants backfield (Tyrone Tracy Jr. $4.8k, Cam Skattebo $5.1k) and tight end Isaiah Likely ($5.3k) face a Texans team implied for 26.5 while the Giants are implied for only 16.0. Jonathan Taylor ($8.0k) and Seth McGowan ($4.0k) draw a Vikings defense that blitzes a lot and shuts down running backs as receivers. Every Titans and Dolphins position grades Tough or worse.
Four defenses grade Great
| Defense | Opponent implied | Why |
|---|---|---|
| HOU DST | NYG 16.0 | 10.5-point favorite. Every Giants position grades Avoid. |
| NYJ DST | MIA 17.5 | Slow-paced game, and every Dolphins position grades Tough or worse. 12 mph wind. |
| MIN DST | IND 17.5 | The Vikings blitz a lot. Dome. |
| CLE DST | TEN 18.0 | Lowest total on the slate (37.5). The Titans QB, WR, and TE all grade Avoid. |
| DEN DST, TEN DST | 19.5 / 19.5 | Both grade Good. |
Avoid: the Raiders defense ($2.0k) against the Rams, and the Packers, Falcons, and Cardinals defenses, each facing an offense implied for 24 or more.
Putting the slate together
For a tournament build, I'd take my share of Lions-Packers because it's the best game on the slate, then lean into the Rams and Bengals, where the stack grades are strong and the field isn't. I'd skip full Texans stacks and get Houston exposure through the running back and tight end instead. Fill with the running back edges (Henry, Gibbs, Jones), and take the defense from the bottom four games, not from the shootouts.

Week 7 FAQ
What are the best NFL DFS stacks for Week 7?
Lions (Jared Goff with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta, Matthew Golden as the bring-back, if he plays) in the highest-total game, plus two lower-owned options: Rams (Matthew Stafford with Puka Nacua and Tyler Higbee, Brock Bowers back, if he plays) and 49ers (Brock Purdy with George Kittle and Mike Evans (if he plays), Drake London back). The Bengals are the other leverage stack the field is light on.
Which DraftKings defenses are the best plays in Week 7?
The Texans, Jets, Vikings, and Browns defenses all grade Great, each facing an offense implied for 18 points or fewer. The Giants are implied for only 16.0 against Houston.
Which Week 7 games should I avoid stacking?
Browns at Titans (37.5), Dolphins at Jets (39.5), and Colts at Vikings (41.5). Points should be scarce in all three, so take the defense or a single running back instead.
